Howdy Gruppe,

The Combat Identification Panel, (CIP) is designed to present a contrasting
cold spot on coalition vehicles during periods of decreased visibility
(night, smoke, haze etc.), when thermal sights are employed. The panels
increase recognition range of friendly vehicles from 1,500m to 3000m.
