Many Early Vehicles have crash box transmissions this a a generic term for
any gear box with straight cut gears that "crash" when meshed during input.
Later boxes have bevel cut or angle cut gears which mesh with much less
grinding "crashing" during input.
Then the latest gear boxes with syncros have bevel cut gears and the syncros
match the gear speeds at input and solve all "crashing" but some unlucky
miss shift grinding "crashing".
