Hello list,
I am having a few electrical problems with my XM211. They are probably self
inflicted, but here goes. The truck is a fire/water truck, the bed is a
water tank. It was converted by someone in 1974, probably a big company
doing it for fire depatments. Anyways, it only had one light switch, a dinky
pull out civilian one, like in a car, for the headlights. The guy I bought
the truck from had another one, so I went and grabbed the switch console
(all 3 together) and put the whole wiring harness in the truck. The one that
was in there was butchered for the civy switch. Anyways, when I turn the top
switch to blacbout marker, it doesnt work, (the blackout drving lights don't
exist, I am working on installing those, they were replaces with turn
signals, could this be part of the problem?) And when I go to stop light ( I
dont quite know what thats supiosed to do) nothing happens, and when i go to
ser. Light, (which I am guessing are my headlamps) Nothing happens. The only
thing that works is when i have the top switch in any position except off
the instrument lights work in Dim and Bright, and park. I have never used
that 3 switch deal before, so I might be doing something wrong, but I think
something else is fishy. Tomarrow I will check to see if the headlights are
24 volt, or 12, the tail lights also, they might have half tapped the
battery for the lights? I am at a loss here, Any ideas would be very
helpfull at this point.
Thanks in advance,
Caleb
