Hmm.. nice project.

1. record the sound of the truck being driven from a stop to full
speed.

2. put the sound into a computer file.

3. select parts of the file, one for each additional 5 RPM off idle,
and put each into a smaller file. These files would consist of short
segments of digitzed sound. actually, only a couple of engine
revolutions would be needed to make up these files each. The files
format should be uncompressed digitzed 16 bit audio. Each file would
represent the sound of the engine at a particular RPM from say
700-2650. That is alot of files but if you want to do it right.. All
the files should be the same length datawise, so it will simplify
programming.

3A. if you want stereo, you do two file processes from your stereo
source.

4. Put the files sequentially into a EPROM memory.

5. Put the PROM into a small circuit with some RAM and a CPU such as
an ARM.

6. connect an output from an RPM sensor on the honda to one of the
small computer circuit's inputs.

7. Write the code (also stored in the EPROM so that when the circuit
boots, the sound files are loaded into the RAM chip. Once booted, the
CPU detects the RPM (and adjusts for the RPM range) and outputs the
appropriate file segment to an output which is connected to a DAC (or
DACs). Connect the DAC to the 250 watt car stereo. Be sure to also use
a PA speaker, or several, mounted under the hood of the honda as well.

Well, I am not going to do it. Any rocket scientists in the group?
