Hi Mark...
>Folks WAKE UP! I would not mentioning any of these good MRE deals over an
>OPEN web! Do not forget this list may be watched and selling these NEW MREs

>you should do it off the list just for your own safety and your customers.
Your point is well taken. We wouldn't want to jeopardize the
enterprises of any of our dealer friends, but I do have two comments
on your message:
1.) It is NOT illegal for legitimate dealers (often surplus dealers)
to resell the official issue MREs as long as the dealer can provide a
receipt from the government agency he bought them from (this proves
that an unscrupulous soldier did not whisk a few cases out the back
door and sell them to the dealer). Many bases including Ft. Irwin pay
dealers to have opened cases of MREs left over from units visiting for
training removed from the premises as the MREs cannot be shipped home
with the trainee troops (the heaters are hazardous cargo). It IS
illegal for any government employee to sell MREs without departmental
permission (it is a big-time felony from what I have been told).
2.) Most of the sources that have been posted in response to Aaron's
original MRE message sell only the civilian versions of the MREs, NOT
the ones marked "US Government Property Not For Resale".
Just my observations.
