M24 trailers appear in the TOE of 4.2 mortar units. At a guess I would
say they were pulled by jimmys and may have held the mortar as well as
the ammunition though I have a note amongst all my stuff that the
4.2-inch mortars may well have been carried in trailers with tailgates
[M25?].
I have a image somewhere of one of these trailers and the wooden frame
in the bottom is different - I will try and find it later this week.
