Hi Jack,
Actually the Calif. Highway Patrol is quite knowledgeable about this
stuff. I went in to register my M390C
2 Ton Trailer and the DMV called the CHP's because they thought it was
stolen.... Yes I had the form 97 with me,
but they could not understand anything that didn't have a VIN, so they used
the serial number as a VIN and it came up as a stollen trailer. Well, The
CHP's arrived on the scene and within about 20 minutes we had it all
straightened out and I got the registration.
