Symptoms: Hard starting. Low power, runs smooth.
Starts and dies until fuel line pressurized by air and
fuel filter petcock opened and bled off. This seems
to prime it and it starts right up. But, still has
low operating power. It still runs smooth. Burns
real clean, no black smoke whatsoever.
To date I have checked:
Fuel lines between all filters, they are clear and not
crimped.
No signs of leaking fuel anywhere.
Fuel tank clean.
Electric fuel pump in tank is pumping correct
pressure.
Checked fuse on top of fuel tank.
Replaced fuel filters.
Checked one injector by untightening it to check for
seepage while cranking and it was seeping normally.
Checked for return line depth in tank.
Checked linkage for proper throw.
NOT DONE YET:
Haven't yet installed a check valve in fule line at
tank.
Didn't do a gravity feed fuel can as pump is working
properly.
Haven't checked the return line yet, but will do
today.
Haven't checked air intake, but gauge shows green.
Haven't checked turbo yet, sounds normal...whistles
like crazy.
Haven't yet checked spray pattern since seems unlikely
injectors would behave this way.
NOTE: Looks like a new injector pump on the engine,
wondering if this could be installed 180 out?
