I was at a scrapyard some years ago in northern France , helping get 3 M26
Pacifics out and back to hte UK. The yard owner had in the 1960's broken up
many US made but french owned fighters such as Corsairs, Texans, Harvards
etc. These were scraped when France pulled out of Indo China. He built an
airstrip on his land and they were flown in for breaking up. I think he made
a small fortune out of it.
