Hi Kenny,

You don't have to buy a "Ham" radio, your RT-524, PRC-25 or PRC-77 and a
host of others will transmit on the 6 meter band, (50.1-54.0). So there is
no real need to buy other than true military radios to be able to operate
legally on the 6 meter "Ham" band. If on the other hand you want to get
into the 2 meter range check on Ebay under 2 meter radios and I'm sure that
you can find some that are priced in any range that you might be looking
for. To keep it fully military however your military radios for the most
part will work and work just fine on 6 meters.

Regards,

Ed
