Hi List...
I just got back from Southern California and met several MV parts
dealers down there, but I'll post my account later.
For now, I need help identifying an item.
I picked up a small crate of items that were described to me as
"Bouncing Betty" balls that are thrown up into the air by a lift
charge in the mine and explode.
I'm not sure if that's what these are. This description could be
totally incorrect.
If they ARE Bouncing Betty balls, these would normally be filled with
explosive compound, and fragment on detonation. However, these items
that I got are NOT filled and are inert.
They are comprised of two pot metal halves held together by a metal
slug with rivet posts on each end. The halves are placed onto the
slug and the rivet ends are mushroomed over to hold the two halves
together. They are empty, and the metal slug is solid metal with
nothing inside.
