Many deuces have holes in the bottom sides or bottoms under the body
of the stake pockets to let the water out else they fill up and rot out. If
you do not have such holes, especially up from the bottom, you might
want to drill say a 1/2 inch hole. This will let you pound a steel rod up
there and possibly drive out the ferin material.
