After putting the cargo cover on sideways like a big
dummy and lashing up the cargo cover to the end cover
via the "end cover" grommets, I figured out it
doesn't't work that way... but only after my 10 year
old grandson pointed it out.
CARGO COVER INSTALLATION is as SIMPLE as 1, 2, 3....
1. Lay your canvas across the cargo bows in way that
(grommet bearing) sides are even with the top of the
cargo bed. Very important!
a. Grommets in the end covers are not supposed to
match the cargo grommets, no, no, no. If they do, you
put it on sideways Junior! Turn it around...by the
way, it will fit sideways too!
b. Before tightening anything, install the front
cargo cover. Two fabric loops hold it at the proper
rear window height. Now use either rubber bands or
rope to hold it in position.
c. The cargo cover should drape over the end bows
and cover the front end-cover by about 15 inches or
more.
2. Once the cargo cover is equally spread from end to
end and side to side, person (a) pulls rubber bands
that go thru the grommets to the bed hooks at the same
time person (b) does this on the opposite side to keep
canvas equally centered.
3. The ends of the cargo cover are suppose to gather
like a Conestoga wagon. Stretch the rubber bands in a
manner to gather the canvas equally and secure to the
last available grommet on each corner. The longer
bands will stretch across the tailgate to hold end of
cover down. The longer ends up front will also stretch
across from side to side and secure in the hooks.
Both rubber bands form a sort of crisscross at the
ends.
Thats it! Have a cold beer and congratulate yourself.
If the ends actually gather like they are suppose
too, have two beers.
Takes about 10 minutes the second time, give it about
an hour+, the first time when you don't follow these
directions.
