Hi Chuck...
You'll need to trace.
First check power and ground at the battery terminals, the negative on
left battery and positive on right and see if the crossover cable that
connects the two batteries together is good. If there's no voltage,
your batteries or crossover cable are bad. If you have 24 volts
across both batteries...
Then check to see that the power is getting out the cables...test
voltage at the other end of the positive cable and to ground. If
there's no voltage, your ground cable or positive cable, or the
connections, are bad. If you still have 24 volts...
Check voltage on the input to the main switch on the dash and ground.
If there's no voltage, the wire to the switch may be bad or have a bad
connection. If you have 24 volts...
Then turn on the main power switch and measure the output voltage from
there to ground. If there is no voltage, then the switch is bad. If
you have 24 volts, then who knows that the problem was!
If the switch test shows 24 volts but there is still a no-power
condition, the wire from the switch to the bus may be bad, or maybe a
fuse...I'm guessing on this last step because I am not familiar with
the electrical system under the dash.
You will likely find a failure in one of these steps. Be sure to do
the checks in this order!
