How about dipping the tanks before moving to see? I've got a dodgy
fuel gauge in the ferret and a reserve function. I ran out of fuel a
month or so ago and thought it was a loose wire. I'd been having
electrical problems and it seemed that was the source of the problem.
It turned out I had "stalled" an hour earlier due to the fuel running
out on main and later on reserve. I spent about 2 hours
troubleshooting the wiring on the side of the road and chatting with
a pair of cops until it dawned on me that I had fumes in the tank
(and only fumes...) DOH!
Now, as to that power increase that James mentions...hmm. Perhaps an
injector was fouled and fresh clean fuel cleared it up? Perhaps a bit
of crud in the injector lines that running dry cleared? Or perhaps in
the fuel pickup? Either way it sounds like a good thing?
