Jim,
The Blue Ridge Parkway does not permit any commercial vehicles. Restored
MV's should be OK, I often see much larger RV's on this scenic highway. I
have driven my deuce on this road a few times, but there are always
alternates. Traffic is light during the week, but can be heavy on summer or
fall weekends, in particular in the fall when the leaf watchers turn out in
droves.
Unfortunately, there are no bike lanes, so you have to share the road with
bikers and at night there are often lots of deer along parts of the Blue
Ridge Hwy. It is sometimes closed in the winter time due to snow (It is not
maintained in the winter).
Speed limit is 45mph, perfect for MV's.
If you need more info, let me know, we live just a couple of miles away,
where you are welcome to camp, by the way.
Cheers,
Bjorn
