Folks -
I had been using the air on my M35 to power an air nailer on a deck project.
I had moved the truck up my drive to get it out of the way for a while. When
it was time to move it back to the work site, I decided to bump start it as
it rolled down the hill. It was rolling backwards, and I did not give much
thought to the gear I put it in. It did start, but when I got to the bottom
of the hill and halfway out my drive, no matter what gear I put it in, it
went backwards! Meanwhile, traffic is bearing down on me.
I finally found reverse, not because I was looking for it specifically, but
I was just shoving the stick wildly at any gear that would engage. Only
after I pulled the truck back into my driveway did I realize that to get it
to go forward, I had put it in reverse.
I guess that I will not be roll-starting the truck backwards from now on!
