It sucks what little oil there is in the oil passages and will NOT supply
oil to the bearings. Running em backwards is a quick way to need a major
overhaul. And as described before the water pump will not pump water as it
is running in reverse. Did you notice also that the engine exhaust was
coming out the air filter? If the engine is hot from just coming off the
road at between 600-700 F it can set FIRE to the paper air filter. You DO
have a charged fire extinguisher in the cab of the truck? Right?
