Guys, I've been following this thread with great interest as our MV club
has been working on a 5 ton gun truck for displays. I've also myself been
working on an M3A1 White Scout Car that used 1/4" cold roll armor plate
that was assembled by the Diebold Safe Co. The halftracks in WWII used the
same armor, which the 8mm Mauser round would penetrate. The advantage
might be with a gun truck in Iraq that the round of choice by the majority
if the bad guys is 7.62x39 which is a weaker round. I don't think we can
do much with RPG rounds. Being armored with a bunch of guns and a couple
of M2's should scare the shit out of the majority of the Sadaam supporters
as when a gun truck shows up, a whole bunch of hurt is gonna happen. .
