Aside from running a top grade engine oil, synthetic
proven to be the best, probably Amsoil or Redline,
10-30 wt. is the absolute best in this category for
shear, foam and ash and Shell Rotella 30 wt.* for most
normal op conditions in diesel you want to get good
filters and don't neglect the air filter, remember a
diesel engine consumes an average of 18,000 gallons of
air per each one gallon of fuel.
I know everyone has their favorite oil, I am just
going by the chart and reading the kind of punishment
these oils can take and still provide effect
lubrication.
