It is on the inside of the frame, drivers side, next to the airpack
booster for the brakes. Takes a 7/16" wrench and ratchet/socket. Takes
two people (trust me). One holds the bolt head on the outside of the
frame and the other one sits underneath, gathering greasy dirt in his
hair, whilst unratchetting the nuts. This switch is repairable. Don't
throw it out. You can open it up and fix it. Put the switch in a vise
and use a large wrench to unscrew the top. Inside, you will find a
flexible diaphragm and some contacts, that are likely pitted and
burned. Clean them up on a wirewheel, check the diaphragm (replace the
diaphragm with a similar material (oil resistant) and put back together.
You can run a quick check to verify that the switch is the problem, by
just unplugging the two wires and touching them together. That should
activate the brake lights, assuming the 3-lever switch and ignition
switch are engaged.
