Hi List ,
Though not to be recommended brake shoes can be cleaned . Soak
in gasoline for 24 hours , then blow dry . Then heat in an oven on high heat
if you can , but be warned it won`t smell good , or use a propane torch and
play the flame on the steel back of the shoe so as not to scorch the lineing
and keep the torch moving all the time . when the smoke stops coming off the
oil is all burnt out . If over heated or burnt the lining will go hard and
be less effective .
