Mine started shorting out and sparking. When they are working, you can
hear them heating coolant. At least you can in my CUCV. I guess they
also become open circuit and just stop working. They also say not to
run engine with it plugged in. The new one was not very expensive.

Story! Ok, maybe not. How can you tell when it goes? Does it go open
circuit, or short in the coolant and trip the breaker?
