If it is like the fords, there is a hole below the cylinder, you insert a
rod into it as you twist the key and it should release, if it is like the
newer grand Cherokee's you need a security torx (T-15)to take the column
apart (Just learned that last week <G>)
\Good luck

Subject: Re: [MV] R-R ignition switch?
Working on kids Jeep Wagoneer, 1993, trying to remove
ignition switch on the column. We have the key, just
the starter mode on switch won't work, we can jump
start it, but thats all. The ignition switch feels
loose with key in it when going back and forth, like
something broke inside the tumblers.
Anyone know how to remove these column mounted
ignition switches? I recall the old dash mounted ones
only required a paper clip inserted into the hole next
to ign. key, but nothing on this one jumps right out
at me.
Thanks for any help!!!! Jack
