Hi All,
The convention on wheel nuts is very simple to remember ,
LEFT HAND NUTS LEFT HANDSIDE {port , or nearside in the UK}
RIGHT HAND NUTS RIGHT HANDSIDE {starboard , or offside in UK }
and very often the end of the studs are stamped L or R

PS this is assuming you are looking forwards ! The posting by Dick is WRONG
think about it , Clockwise rotation of the wheel gives an anti clockwise
rotation to the stud , so tightening the nut .
