Has it occurred to you that he may have been bluffing to deter an invasion by
the US and cow his enemies? The Brits did it in the Falklands and WW II. Saddam
may have become a victim of his own propaganda.
I don't believe for a second that he was Mr. Rogers by any means, but Occam's
Razor suggests that many of the weapons claims may have been phony, and our
government fell for it (or used the pretext knowingly, which is much more
disturbing).
