Hi Mike,
Tire sizing goes like this:
Take your size 37x12.50x16.5 for example...
37 = height of the tire
12.50 = width of the tire
16.5 = wheel size
As for whether or not this tire will fit a HMMWV, I would think it
should, because you are gaining only 1/2 an inch all the way around the
tire (i.e. 1/2" on the bottom + 1/2" on the top makes the tire 1"
taller). But I don't yet have a HMMWV, so I can't confirm that. But
I've heard of guys running 38" tires on HMMWVs.
