HMMWV shelter carrier control arms needed

Hey, gang. I'm working on converting my 1986 M998 HMMWV into an M1037 shelter
carrier, to carry an AN/GRC-122B radio teletype set in an S-250 shelter that I
recently bought. As I was working on installing the heavy-duty rear springs
and shocks today, I discovered that there's no way those heavy-duty springs
would fit. A trip to the parts manual showed me that I also need different
rear lower control arms. The part numbers are 5596502 for the left side, and
5596503 for the right side. Does anybody out there have any in good, usable
condition?

I sprung for new springs and shocks (expensive, but I didn't want saggy
take-off springs and worn-out shocks), but I think take-off control arms
should be just fine if they're in good condition. I don't think I even want to
know how much new control arms would cost! :-)

I just got the mounting frame for the shelter, and a set of the brackets which
mount the shelter to the frame. It looks like some new holes will be required
in the body to mount the frame. In fact, there were rings of metal filings
mashed in place around some of the holes in the frame, where it appears that
new body holes were drilled in the truck the frame came off of with the frame
in place as a template. From the diagrams in the parts manual, I expect that
I'll need to fabricate some reinforcing plates to go under the body where the
frame bolts down.

So, do any of you HMMWV experts out there know if there are any other frame,
body or suspension components that I'm going to need to properly convert my
truck to a shelter carrier? It's not exactly easy to go through the manual
line by line to see which parts are different between the M998 and the M1037!

Thanks in advance!
