Veterans Day in Dallas TX

Here are some pictures online;

I got to drive my M35 in the Veterans Day parade in Dallas. For me it
was also a recruiting effort, and we attached a banner to the front
bumper advertising the Texas Guard.

I Only got a few shots of the staging area, as I was driving in the
parade. Therefore, not many parade pics.

My old M35A2 with S-280 looks nice with new paint. The shelter now
matches the truck too.

Also, some nice pics of the VI Corps (military vehicle collectors
-mailny WWII) members' jeeps, and a few newer 5 tons and FMTVs from
the Army 49th DIV and the Air Force.

And the obligatory Texas State Guard recruiting table.

The best part, I was real pleased to experience the crowded street of
parade-goers cheer and salute the WWII veterans riding in the 5-ton in
front of me. It was like a moving roar, which followed that truck
along the route. I expect it was the same for all the many vehicles in
which Veterans were riding. This shows the appreciation we all have
and rightly so, for those who have served in the military, and risked
their lives for the cause of freedom wherever it may be found.

There was also a POW/MIA float which was near the head of the parade,
to honor those who paid the ultimate price.

For you M35 buffs, Most of the route was done in low first at about
1400RPM. Truck ran just fine.
