it appears to be a Type "I" WWII Japanese rifle. It was made in Italy. One
of the few Foreign made rifle the Japanese used.
made from 1937-39
aprox 60,000 built
6.5 MM Japanese
Series A-L Serial number range 1-9999
no markings on receiver
Series mark and serial number on the barrel at the receiver location
Barrel length 30-3/4
two-piece buttstock and short handguard
