No scientific stuff here, just an observation. The frame rails of the deuce
are 34" apart and subsequently so are the main bed rails. I would surmise that
if you marked out the footprint in the bed keeping it centered over the frame
rails and situated it maybe 3 or 4 " in fwd of the rear tandem centerline, it
would work. The deuce is designed to safely haul 10,000# over improved roads
so it would probably make the move but in the unsafely category. Just how far
are you moving this machine? Unless you have the tiedown anchors in your
bed, I would really over do it with 2" straps or chains and binders. I would also
take the time to cut and assemble some timbers to wedge between the machine
and the front of the bed. Even moving at 20 MPH you never know when crisis
braking will occur. Would I do it? Darn right I would but I would take every
precaution.
