Why would a home web server be Windows? Linux is readily available at
Staples and has everything you need to harden the system right there. MS
demands you spend many $100's to do what Linux lets you do for "free."
That being said: a firewall dsl or cable router can be had for only
minimal dollars, then just keeping up with the patches as released by MS
and keeping "extra" software off the machine should keep you as secure
as you need.
Of course, again, all of this is based on *no* first-hand knowledge of
the situation.
But at least my M-37 is running again!
