Yes. The difference is a function of either the materials used in its
construction and/or its thermal mass. The characteristic curves
differ from both standard and instrument (fast blow) fuses. Typically
slow blow fuses are used ahead of inductive loads.

Time delay fuses in size 1/4" dia x 1-1/4" long are available in the
MDL (glass) or MDA (ceramic) series.
