Hi
Not a problem......a feature. The M1009 has a fast idle solenoid that
holds the idle speed up when it is activated. When the temp comes up
the current is removed from the fast idle solenoid and the timing
advance solenoid. The engine then reverts to normal idle and normal
timing. You have to set the regular and fast idle independently. When
you start the truck and it is cold you should give it a little throttle
after turning on the key. That sets up the fast idle. Also it is
advisable to give it a little throttle when cranking when cold to assist
starting.

Subject: [MV] Stuck idle
One additional problem that I have experienced with the M1009 since I
got her is that when it is in the warming up phase, if you press on the
accelerator pedal, the idle will increase and stick at that new rpm.
Press farther down, engine speeds up and stays at that new rpm, until it
is warmed up (about 4 mins).
Any thoughts, it should not be doing this, correct?
