You might want to ask a different group of people. The old engine
collectors have some very ingenious ways to start up huge old gas and
diesel engines. The simplest is probably to rig up some type of flat belt
drive and use a second engine or tractor with a belt drive to spin the
engine.

Other ideas that come to mind:

A tractor PTO. Virtually every tractor has one. Use an overrunning clutch
on the PTO and crank it over.

Large surplus air starter and construction style air compressor.
  Think outside of the box.
