Going back to my old meteorology days
there was a Dry Adiabatic Lapse rate and a Wet Adiabatic Lapse rate...for
ease of use, they settled on -3F degree per thousand as the standard since
the air is usually considered saturated in most temperate areas....IIRC
Steve is recalling the DALR...But then again, it was a long time ago and
the memory core is getting rocky.
    Funny, I remember crap from 30 years ago, but I have trouble remembering
old what's her name's birthday, the one that's letting me build the
garage....
