Hi
If its pipe around 1 1/4 or so construction and mounts to the outside
holes it sounds like the guard made as a stock oem item for the civ
hummer. It will still work OK on the mil Humvee but is not either the
angle iron light duty or Luverne flat bar heavy duty military design
brush guard. The towing shackles do NOT go on the sides of the frame.

This guard will only mount on the outer holes....it's pipe, not angle
iron
(Luverne??). I found a pix of a HMMWV with the outer holes being used
for
the brush guard and the towing brackets mounted just behind the bumper!!
I
looked at mine and there are holes, at a 45 degree angle on the side of
the
frames, just behind the bumper, that the towing brackets will fit on!
There is no winch on mine (yet). Now, I'm thinking the displaced
brackets
can be mounted just behind the bumper. The more I "think" the more dumb
I
gets.
