Joe and all,
the m135 just arrived her from joe's house in belfast ny.
i contracted TNT transport to move the truck. there was a bit of a
screw around with them trying to locate a proper trailer with
appropriate ramps. they came the first time with ramps rated for 3000
pounds. the driver was concerned for his equipment and i suggested
that they come back with the proper trailer for loading and
unloading. it seems as though they simply sent another truck with the
same trailer. per joe the ramps were bent a bit as the m135 climbed
aboard.
when it got here the ramps were amusingly bent and when the deuce was
rolling off the truck one of the ramps decided it did not want to be
on the trailer anymore. so with one tire in the air, it was rolled
back on the trailer and then i arranged the ramp so it could be used
properly. the driver had used a 3rd ramp to use as a support 1/2 way
down the ramp. the driver had the truck tied down in 3 different
places.
anyhow, the truck is here and seems to run, and of course now it is
sinking in my mudpit of a backyard. i have to run through it to make
it roadworthy now.
in terms of dealing with tnt transport, they have been very good in
terms of customer contact. they were lacking in understanding what
was needed to move such an object. the description started as a large
pick up truck and wandered on to a deuce. they apparantly
subcontracted classic cars to move it. the driver was good and had a
loose idea of what things were but was a little but out of his league
on this particular job. he moves much smaller vehicles on a regular
basis. they were also the most inexpensive of the quotes i received.
now its time for the massachusetts rmv to call it a 13 passenger pick
up.
thanks to those who have posted in the past in dealing with such
issues.
