Hi
It is standard non-EP old fashioned petro based grease. GAA, Grease
Artillery and Automotive. It is available all of the place at surplus
outlets. It is a good grade of Non EP, non Long Fiber Grease.

Subject: [MV] Mystery Grease
Mystery Grease...
So I picked this up at the local surplus store. Both myself and the
surplus shop owner would like to know anything we can find out about
this can of grease:
G.A.A.
GREASE
AUTOMOTIVE AND ARTILLERY
MIL-G-10924
14-G-623
STA-VIS OIL CO.
ASP 5398 QUAL. NO. M-7356
1 LB. NET
lid: May 52 2028
the "0"in 2028 is not very visable. It could be a 6 or 8.
Any help in what G.A.A. or the various numbers mean would be greatly
appreciated!
>From my guess, this grease is for general vehicle and artillery lube?
Would this be slopped in a grease gun to go around and top off all the
zercs?
Would you use this to pack bearings? Is the grease "water-proof"?
Where, if at all, whould I use this on my M38A1? nothing could be more
authentic then
using THIS correctly dated grease on my HMV! Is the 2028 the date this
stuff
expires? looks like it's got a few more years to go!
Or perhaps should I put this can on a shelf and save it? I doubt that
there's many around!
