welding armor plate

Anyone on the list have experience welding armor plate?

I have a crack in the door on my V100 that I need to fix.

Looking at the V100 maintenance manual and the Army welding manual online I have a bit of understanding.

My concern is about the amperage I need to weld 1\4 plate.

I have a Lincoln SP-175 mig and access to a AC-225 stick welder but I am not sure if these will give the amperage I need to weld the plate.
