IMSHO Yahoo Groups are not real groups: you are stuck with what yahoo
says to do and use. Same with Hotmail, or any other 'free' service.
I've never heard of someone getting a virus from V-Bulletin hosting
software, or any like it. And as you can set the forum up to not allow
attachments ( the user Can provide a link to a photo or whatever you
want from the post in the forum ) you also don't worry about how long it
will take to 'download' the messages. You go in with a browser, pick
the topics and particular threads you wish to contribute to or follow,
and read them. If you want the attachment you click on the link the
poster provides and download it.
