My M35 makes the same antifreeze odor as it warms up, too. My level never
goes down, and I never see any spots on the floor. I have learned to ignore
this sign of impending doom. Pintle rings (correctly called "lunettes"
(small moons) are available at tractor supply stores, Northern Hydraulics,
welding shops, trailer dealers. (Shameless plug follows, please delete): Put
a pair of our free-wheel hubs on the old girl, and she'll go 5 mph faster
again.
