Hello,
One thing I wanted to add is that if you are going to leave it on all the
time for battery maintenance, be careful of what type of charger you use.
Your typical automotive 2/10/? amp battery charger is ok for getting a dead
battery charged enough to start your vehicle but that is all they are good
for. If left on all the time they will either not fully charge your
battery, which leads to sulfation, or can overcharge it, as they usually put
out unregulated voltage that varies with the load the battery accepts.
Newer "smart" chargers can be 3-stage charging, and will control the voltage
based on the battery's needs in its given state and will not overcharge.
