I notice some holes on my exhaust pipe on my multi-fuel M35 the other day in
the old "P-trap" behind the tire and concluded I would need to replace it.
I am seriously considering mounting a 4" muffler under the battery box and
running some flex up to the 3 1/2" pipe just down from the turbo flex joint.
Just for the 24 hours I will spend in it traveling to and from the Rally. I
actually like the noise, for short periods. My question is this, will this
cause any problems with back pressure in the exhaust? I was planning on
using 4" stuff so I will have a little less restriction there. Obviously
some restriction from the muffler itself. Has anyone tried this before or
do any of you mechanics know if this will cause trouble. I would ask some
of my diesel mechanic friends about this, but I have concluded the
multi-fuel is in a league all it's own.
Desperately seeking a quite trip,
Joe Trapp
