Its not that. Its the Patrols they do every day
that are getting hit with IEDs along the road
side.
We need light wheeled armor that can handle a
proximity blast and not kill the crew. Thin armor
plate bolted over sheetmetal and fiberglass just
doesn't do it. It needs to be wheeled armor not
unlike what the Frogs, South Africans, British
and many other countries have been running around
in.
Frankly, we could probably buy something off the
shelf from the South Africans that'd be nicely
mine resistant, fast, reliable and carry plenty
of firepower. Rooikats and Ratels would probably
be best. But they're not invented here.
