CUCV alternators

CUCV gurus,

What are the 'shielded'/'isolated' ground, (whatevers special about 'em)
CUCV alternators selling for?

What is required to be done, (if anything) to replace them with 'standard'
alternators, if the CUCV versions can't be located?

All the wiring seems to be hanging loose for each alternator position, and
both batteries on this unit. Everything else seems to appear untouched.

I've not been paying much attention to the CUCV posts, I haven't had one
yet.
