Hi Fellas ,
A cheap rust killer can be made using Phosphoric acid .
IF my memory is correct 10% acid in deionised water .
Iron oxide is soluble in water which is why iron is continuously eaten away
BUT iron phosphate is insoluble in water and so once the coating develops
then no further reaction takes place .
I was given a gallon by a local fertiliser manufacturer some years ago ,
seemed to work ok ----- and the price was right !
JUST BE CAREFUL ---- Noel
