A.P.
Missed the dissing of the Air-O-Matic. Where was it printed?
In regards to continuing to push the envelope on deuce products, if you
aren't making money on the projects, I can understand your attitude. But I
think we HMVers are not your major market, or are we?
I find your items fascinating. But I would (will) use them on a hobby
vehicle that is not a part of my bread winning endeavors. Low yearly miles,
no real reason to own it, just for feces and grins. And while I consider
myself the Captain of my own destiny, I find my 'giggle bucks' have some
strings attached. Actually, more like 'Stren' fishing line. Not visible most
of the time from my vantage point, but clearly visible to Her Royal Highness
Deborah and the Royal Treasury.
I am not mechanically inclined ( as anyone in my club would chorus 'No
feces Seymour!!'). And my spares and shop equipment are not provided by
Uncle Sugar, and when I work on Mr. Deuce, I rarely can find the illusive
'Soldier B' (of course, I sometimes think of HRH Deborah as soldier B, if
you rotate the B 90 degrees clockwise and squint a bit. If you have an
equivalent Soldier B around, you may want to keep this observation to
yourself or you might be looking for Soldier C instead.). So trying to keep
up on PM and avoid next higher echelon maintenance is important, or Mr.
Deuce don't roll until some major OT comes along.
I suspect that a large number of HMV owners, like myself do not weld, own
a Bridgeport or have access to my local vocational schools shop equipment.
So we depend on after market suppliers like you to make our lives a little
simpler. I intend to eventually purchase both your hubs and air assist
steering kit to make Mr. Deuce more palatable to Soldiers A(me, aka Major
Poosay), B (HRH Deb) and C (oldest Daughter soon to be driving legally). The
operative word is 'eventually'.
And this discussion has definitely caught my interest on the rear lock
out hub setup you have discussed previously. But it, like the other items
you offer, are options to look forward to, not necessities.
That said, how would you rate your products, in order of importance in
easing operation, reduction of wear and tear, and quickest payback? Which
should be the first item purchased, or if only one is in the cards? Steering
or hubs (front or back/one or two)?
Please be advised that I know of three people (including Outlaw Joe
Young, who might count for more people since he has put several sets on
various Deuces) who have installed or own your hubs, and have heard nothing
but accolades on the quality, ease of installation (a snap) and difference
in handling. I know of one Air Steering owner (on an M109) who loves it and
a couple of folks who have driven it and say it's a dream. So I put more
stock in folks I know or can stare in the eye while they rate a product,
than I do in 'Mr. Internet List Expert' who may have an axe to grind when he
disses you. So far in your case the eyeball interviews have you way over on
the winning side of the board. And IMHO, I don't think you're doing too
shabby here on the list, either.
So buck up A.P.! Heated discourse here ain't necessarily a bad
thing.....(though that pendragon discussion or whatever it was a couple of
months ago left me scratching my head but it did finally die out.... I'm
more a Lensman series/ early Mack Bolan type of guy.).
We still love ya.....!
Regards, Ron (zo)
