Here is an idea:

Install a simple knife switch in the battery compartment to disconnect the
batteries. The knife switches have been around for ever and can be found
to handle any load. They are not subject to vibration problems due to
the design. Assuming that they are mounted flat such that you need to pull
up to disconnect. Although I don't even think this is a requirement.
Then just put a lock on the battery compartment. If concerned for appearance,
then figure out how to lock the knife switch open with a tiny lock. Maybe an eye

bolt thru the base with the threads smashed at the end after it is secured in
place
and then a hole in the end of the blade handle.
