here in west Tenn. NAPA a few months ago bought the stores and other assets
of a local parts company (Motor Parts and Bearings) that had several stores
in the area. As soon as the deal was completed they came in and
re-arranged the stores, if there had been both stores in same town they
closed the Motor Parts store. they stopped handling any parts that were not
NAPA - several of the stores had kept farm implement parts, no more. Most
of the store managers and clerks under old management were forced out.
What really brought the changes to my attention were oil filters, I may be
wrong but I like to use AC-Delco oil filters in my GMC products, they are no
longer available at NAPA stores, they only handle NAPA filters and the price
is higher than the AC..
A fellow I know has the local Car-Quest store and he said he had several
customers change to his store from NAPA

You wanna bet? Napa seems to be almost double the price of other parts
houses in my area.
